We're a team of dedicated Australian gaming enthusiasts on a mission to deliver the most honest, in-depth game coverage and esports journalism in the region.
PhantomRaid was founded in 2021 by a group of five friends who shared a single frustration: Australian gaming coverage was either too shallow, too commercially compromised, or simply didn't reflect the unique perspective of the local gaming community.
Starting with a simple blog and a Discord server, we grew organically through word of mouth, driven entirely by the quality of our reviews and the passion of our community. By 2023, we had expanded to full tournament coverage and launched our first live event at the Sydney Showground.
Today, PhantomRaid is home to over 48,000 registered community members, a team of 12 full-time staff, and a network of 30+ freelance contributors across every state and territory in Australia.

Three core principles guide everything we do at PhantomRaid.
We never accept payment for positive coverage. Every score reflects our genuine assessment, regardless of publisher relationships or advertising arrangements.
We review games through the lens of Australian gamers — accounting for local server performance, regional pricing, and the preferences of our community.
Our readers and community members are the reason we exist. Every editorial decision is made with their interests at the forefront, not commercial considerations.
